At Candle Scent HQ, operated by Sarah Kurtycz, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address and encrypted password when you create an account
• Usage data — how many formulas you have generated and whether you have a paid subscription
• Saved formulas — fragrance formulas you choose to save to your account
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details
• Email address — if you joined our waitlist via the landing page, collected through Mailchimp

How we use your data

• To provide the Candle Scent HQ service and sync your saved formulas across devices
• To manage your subscription and process payments via Stripe
• To send you important account notifications (not marketing, unless you opted in)
• To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns

Third party services

• Supabase — stores your account data and saved formulas securely
• Stripe — handles all payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy
• Anthropic — powers the AI formula generation. Prompts are sent to Anthropic's API but not stored or used for training
• Mailchimp — manages our waitlist email list for people who signed up before launch
• Netlify — hosts our website and serverless functions

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed within 30 days. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@candlescenthq.com.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Email us at hello@candlescenthq.com and we will respond within 5 business days.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Candle Scent HQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
